About The Position

This role is responsible for supporting PAMF's fundraising programs, with a special emphasis on individual donor cultivation. The Director will focus on raising principal, major, annual, and planned gifts, with an individual annual fundraising goal of $1.5M - $3M+. This position provides leadership and is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating programs and initiatives, as well as the fiscal and administrative structures. In this capacity, the Director leads, directs, coordinates, and executes the planning for Philanthropy strategies in alignment with Sutter Health's goals. The role also serves as an administrative liaison to Senior Management, Medical Staff, and Sutter Health leadership to ensure smooth and integrated operations and alignment of strategies with the mission and resources. Externally, the Director represents Sutter Health in the community, ensuring the mission and programs of the Foundation are accurately understood and carried out. The role also serves as a catalyst for community collaboration by developing the Foundation as a resource for improving community health.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 12 years of recent relevant experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all fundraising approaches, with expertise in capital campaigns, principal and major gifts, and planned giving.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual and institutional prospects and donors.
  • Experience developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders including Board of Directors, CEOs, Corporate Partners, and Physician Leaders.
  • Skills, knowledge, and expertise in strategic planning, hospital fundraising, donor acquisition, and donor and stakeholder engagement.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey concepts clearly.
  • Credible leadership presence, with the ability to respond to questions with logic, clarity, calmness, and authority.
  • Ability to motivate and engage others.
  • Effective delegation skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with changing business priorities.
