Director of Pharmacy - Onsite
About The Position
The Director of Pharmacy will lead all aspects of pharmacy operations, including planning, organizing, and supervising services in alignment with hospital policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements. You will collaborate with hospital leadership to implement innovative pharmacy practices, supported by proprietary CPS software, a dedicated support team including experts in operations, clinical, and regulatory as well as a CPS Area Director or Senior Vice President. About the Facility: Cypress Creek Hospital is a 128-bed acute care psychiatric facility serving adolescents (ages 12-17) and adults in the Houston area. We provide a full continuum of behavioral health services, including inpatient, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. Our multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, therapists, social workers, and mental health technicians delivers compassionate, individualized care to help patients achieve lasting recovery. Treatment options include individual, group, family, recreational, and art therapies, as well as specialized outpatient services through Branches, including intensive outpatient programs and electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). CPS Solutions-Optum has partnered with the hospital to manage the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy. This position is an employee of CPS Solutions-Optum. Pharmacy Hours: The pharmacy is open Monday-Friday 7:00am – 3:30pm and Saturday and Sunday, 8:00am to 4:00pm.
Requirements
- ACPE-accredited PharmD degree or BS of Pharmacy
- Active State of Texas pharmacist license in good standing
- Management/supervisory experience

Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all pharmacy services within a single hospital, aligning operations with the hospital’s clinical, quality, and financial goals
- Ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based medication use, overseeing clinical pharmacy practice, medication safety, and formulary management
- Lead, develop, and hold accountability for pharmacy leadership and staff, including managers, pharmacists, technicians, and support teams
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and legal requirements, including Joint Commission, CMS, USP, BOP and state/federal laws
- Oversee pharmacy financial performance, including budgeting, purchasing, contract management, and cost-containment initiatives
- Collaborate with executive leadership and interdisciplinary stakeholders, supporting system-wide patient care, quality, and safety initiatives
- Drive innovation, performance improvement, and strategic growth, leveraging data, technology, and best practices to advance pharmacy services
