About The Position

The Director of Pharmacy Operations will oversee all aspects of pharmacy operations, including sterile compliance, fulfillment workflows, and strategic growth initiatives. This role is responsible for leading cross-functional teams, optimizing operational efficiency, and ensuring regulatory compliance while scaling the business to support continued expansion.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in pharmacy operations or a related healthcare environment
  • Strong experience with sterile compounding and regulatory compliance including USP <795>, <797>, and <800>
  • Proven ability to manage and scale high-volume operational teams
  • Experience overseeing fulfillment workflows across multiple operational functions
  • Strong understanding of pharmacy systems, data workflows, and operational infrastructure
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze performance metrics and drive continuous improvement
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a 503A compounding pharmacy environment
  • Background in high-growth or multi-state pharmacy operations
  • Experience working with telehealth or direct-to-consumer healthcare models
  • Familiarity with scaling operations across multiple product lines or services

Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end pharmacy operations including data entry, fulfillment, production, verification, and shipping workflows
  • Lead and manage a growing operations team, including pharmacists, technicians, QA, and support staff
  • Ensure compliance with USP <795>, <797>, and <800> standards and all federal and state regulatory requirements
  • Drive operational efficiency through process optimization, technology implementation, and workflow management
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators across fulfillment, accuracy, turnaround time, and patient satisfaction
  • Partner cross-functionally with leadership, including finance and product teams, to support business growth and scalability
  • Manage inventory, vendor relationships, and supply chain processes to ensure continuity and cost efficiency
  • Establish and oversee training programs, performance management, and team development initiatives
  • Support expansion efforts, including new product lines, service offerings, and operational scaling strategies
  • Maintain high standards of quality assurance, patient safety, and regulatory adherence across all operations
