About The Position

The Director of People will be responsible for building and leading a scalable, high-impact People function that supports LBMX’s growth across Canada and the United States. This is a hands-on leadership role suited for an experienced operator who thrives in fast-paced environments and can bring structure, discipline, and strategic insight to all aspects of human resources. This leader will oversee the full employee lifecycle, including talent acquisition, performance management, HR operations, and organizational development. They will work closely with senior leadership to drive workforce strategy, elevate leadership capability, and ensure the organization operates with clarity, accountability, and consistency. This is an on-site position at our London, Ontario, office. Must be able to legally work in Canada.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in HR leadership roles, including Director of People or equivalent positions
  • Minimum of 3+ years managing and developing HR team members
  • Proven experience operating in high-growth environments, with a strong focus on HR business partnering and workforce planning
  • Experience managing HR operations across both Canada and the United States, including cross-border compliance and payroll
  • Demonstrated success building recruiting functions and scaling hiring processes
  • Experience partnering with Finance on headcount planning and workforce forecasting
  • Experience developing, tracking, and leveraging people metrics to inform decision-making
  • CHRL or CHRP designation required
  • Experience with HR, payroll systems, and PEO providers (e.g., ADP Workforce, BambooHR, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Establish and scale a modern People function, implementing best practices, systems, and processes that support a high-growth organization
  • Develop and operationalize a clear People strategy aligned with LBMX’s business objectives and growth plans
  • Build infrastructure across HR, talent, and operations to enable consistency and scalability
  • Design and lead performance management frameworks that reinforce accountability, transparency, and measurable outcomes
  • Partner with leadership to drive organizational effectiveness, ensuring clear roles, expectations, and alignment across teams
  • Implement tools and processes to track, analyze, and improve people and performance metrics
  • Own all HR operations across Canada and the U.S., including payroll, benefits administration, and regulatory compliance
  • Ensure adherence to cross-border employment laws, policies, and best practices
  • Evaluate and optimize HR systems and tools to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Build and scale a structured recruiting function capable of supporting aggressive hiring targets
  • Develop repeatable hiring processes, employer branding, and candidate experience standards
  • Partner with Finance and leadership to lead workforce planning, headcount modeling, and hiring prioritization
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on complex people matters, including employee relations, performance issues, and terminations
  • Provide guidance grounded in sound judgment, risk awareness, and business alignment
  • Coach leaders to strengthen management capability and drive consistency across the organization
  • Shape and reinforce a high-performance, in-office culture that aligns with LBMX’s values and operating principles
  • Develop initiatives that enhance employee engagement, retention, and overall workplace experience
  • Ensure the organization remains a compelling and productive environment for top talent
  • Support organizational scaling efforts, including structural changes, process improvements, and M&A readiness and integration
  • Drive change management initiatives to ensure smooth adoption of new processes, systems, and structures across teams
  • Lead and develop the People & Operations team, setting clear expectations and driving execution across all HR functions
  • Build a high-performing team culture focused on accountability, responsiveness, and continuous improvement
