About The Position

A leading acute care hospital in northeastern Nevada is seeking an experienced Director of People Services to serve as the senior Human Resources leader for the facility. Reporting directly to the CEO and partnering closely with executive leadership, this role will lead HR strategy, employee engagement, labor relations, recruitment, retention, and organizational development initiatives for a workforce of 200+ employees. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for an HR professional who thrives in a healthcare environment and is passionate about building a people-first culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Organizational Leadership, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive HR leadership experience.
  • Experience across employee relations, labor relations, recruitment, compliance, and performance management.
  • Experience advising senior leadership teams.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience supervising HR staff.

Nice To Haves

  • Acute care hospital or healthcare HR leadership experience.
  • Direct union experience, including collective bargaining administration and grievance management.
  • Experience supporting organizations with 100+ employees.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
  • Rural healthcare and workforce planning experience.
  • Experience leading engagement and culture transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the strategic HR advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team.
  • Lead employee engagement, retention, succession planning, and culture initiatives.
  • Oversee labor relations, collective bargaining administration, grievance management, and union partnerships.
  • Provide coaching and guidance on performance management, investigations, corrective action, and conflict resolution.
  • Direct recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning, and retention efforts.
  • Manage HR operations, compliance, leaves, accommodations, audits, and policy administration.
  • Analyze workforce metrics and implement data-driven improvement strategies.
  • Lead employee development, leadership training, and organizational effectiveness initiatives.
  • Supervise HR staff and foster a high-performance team environment.
  • Manage departmental budgets and ensure compliance with employment laws and healthcare regulations.
