About The Position

Tekmetric is seeking a Director of People Partnerships who is passionate about developing team members and enhancing the effectiveness of leaders. This is a foundational role where you will establish the frameworks, operating rhythms, and standards for people partnerships at Tekmetric, while also leading the team responsible for delivering these services. You will create the People Partnerships function from the ground up. You will manage and develop a team of 2-3 People Partners embedded within GTM, Customer, R&D, and G&A divisions. Additionally, you will personally manage senior leader relationships and handle escalated employee matters. Your role will define and uphold the standard for excellent people partnership at Tekmetric, building a team that consistently meets this standard across all divisions. This position operates at the intersection of people strategy and business execution. Reporting to the VP of People & Culture, you will collaborate with the Director of People Operations, Sr. Director of Talent Acquisition, and Head of Employee Experience to build a People function that serves as a competitive advantage as Tekmetric scales.

Requirements

  • Track record of outcomes, not just titles or certifications.
  • Experience building and developing a team of HRBPs or People Partners, with demonstrated success in elevating individuals.
  • Energized by doing the work yourself, not just overseeing it; modeling how to handle difficult situations.
  • Setting a high bar for team quality, consistency of judgment, and impact of work.
  • 8–12+ years in people partnership or a closely related function.
  • At least 3–4 years at the director or senior HRBP level in a high-growth SaaS or technology company.
  • Experience in a rapidly scaling environment, building processes and infrastructure to support growth.
  • Experience supporting revenue-generating or customer-facing teams and understanding quota-carrying managers.
  • Experience partnering with R&D organizations, understanding their team-building and success definition processes.
  • Ability to build credibility with senior leaders quickly through sharpness, directness, and usefulness.
  • Ability to identify organizational risk early, bring clarity to ambiguity, and know when to push back and when to align.
  • Ability to deliver hard feedback, coach managers, and present to leadership teams with calibrated approaches.
  • Comfort with HRIS platforms (Rippling a plus), people analytics, and performance management tools (Lattice or similar).
  • Ability to pull data and tell a compelling story.
  • Actively use AI tools to improve work and bring that orientation to the team.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Talent Architecture: Design and maintain a rigorous approach to org design, workforce planning, and succession planning across all divisions.
  • Lead and develop the People Partnerships team: Manage, coach, and develop 2–3 People Partners, setting the standard for what great people partnership looks like at Tekmetric — then building a team that delivers it consistently across every division.
  • Own the most complex work yourself: Personally own senior leader relationships, and escalated situations, to develop the team and stay close to the business.
  • Build the manager capability of the entire organization: Help execute the development of leaders at Tekmetric, including calibrations, succession planning, performance rigor, and coaching frameworks, ensuring consistent execution across every division.
  • Diagnose what’s actually going on: Use engagement data, attrition signals, and pattern recognition to identify the drivers of team health issues and performance gaps across the org, and present a clear point of view to leadership.
  • Be the steady hand when things get hard: Serve as the escalation point for complex, sensitive situations, navigating them with sound judgment and high integrity, and knowing when to involve the VP of People.
  • Pull the whole People team forward: Partner closely with the People Leadership Team to deliver integrated people solutions, from hiring strategy and onboarding to compensation decisions and leadership development.
