About The Position

The Fort Wayne Park Foundation is seeking a strategic, community-minded Director to advance its mission of providing private, independent support for the City of Fort Wayne's parks system through philanthropy and advocacy. The Director will strengthen community partnerships, cultivate donor relationships, support fundraising initiatives, and help advance efforts that benefit Fort Wayne's parks and community.

This is a flexible, part-time contractual position of up to 20 hours per week. Hybrid or work-from-home arrangements are negotiable. The Director reports to the Parks Foundation Board. Compensation is $30,000–$46,000. The anticipated start date is January 2027; the position will not begin before then. Applications are accepted November 1–30, 2026, with applicant updates expected in mid-December 2026. This contractual role is with the Fort Wayne Park Foundation, not the City of Fort Wayne.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in administration, management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience demonstrating competency in the role.
• Strong communication, project management, and relationship-building skills.
• Organized, self-motivated approach and enjoyment of connecting with people and turning ideas into action.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, public relations, or marketing is preferred.
• Knowledge of the local philanthropic community is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with individual, corporate, and foundation donors.
• Partner with the Foundation Board to develop and achieve fundraising goals.
• Establish and manage donor engagement, planned giving, and fundraising programs.
• Represent the Foundation and develop relationships with community organizations, government partners, and other stakeholders.
• Support Foundation operations, financial coordination, and Board activities.
• Help advance initiatives that strengthen and support Fort Wayne's parks system.
