About The Position

The Director of Outpatient Services provides leadership and strategic planning for the outpatient program offered at the facility. This role ensures that the program effectively meets the needs of the community and aligns with the facility’s performance goals and objectives. Responsibilities include overseeing administrative processes and management systems for geriatric services, promoting and maintaining a therapeutic environment, and developing and implementing clinical treatment programs to support optimal patient care and program success. Represent the Outpatient Services Department at the executive level by planning, developing and implementing structured clinical service programs that contribute to a therapeutic environment. Maintain an awareness of community and market-related activities which includes knowledge of activities of other providers, needs of local payers and the political climate related to mental health. Strategically solve problems that encompass the larger view of the organization and establish goals by utilizing an understanding of organizational dynamics in planning and problem solving. Interface with community agencies related to delivery of clinical services, education, and recruitment. Ensure that a system is developed to provide continuity of care and communication with family and appropriate referral sources and ensure the system is evaluated and reviewed regularly. Analyze statistical data of the program to determine and respond to trends.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, social work, or related mental health field.
Master’s Degree preferred.
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in psychiatric/mental health field.
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in advanced clinical/management practice.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Appropriate Illinois state licensure in mental health.
LCPC or LCSW is required.
Strong knowledge of The Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA regulations, and patient rights standards.
Knowledge of all other applicable federal and state laws and regulations governing mental health care facilities.
