About The Position

The NYC Department of Finance (DOF) is responsible for administering the city's tax laws. The Sheriff's Office within DOF enforces court mandates, conducts investigations, and monitors defendants. As the Sheriff's Office faces increasingly complex responsibilities, there is a need for an executive-level function to coordinate strategic initiatives, monitor implementation, integrate performance information, and ensure accountability across divisions. To address this, the Sheriff's Office is establishing an Office of Organizational Strategy and Transformation, led by a Director. This office will serve as the central strategic coordination and performance management function, providing executive oversight of strategic priorities and cross-divisional initiatives. The goal is to improve interagency collaboration, support data-informed decision-making, establish greater accountability, and advance continuous organizational and operational improvement. The Director will lead the implementation of the Sheriff's strategic priorities, allowing operational leadership to focus on daily enforcement activities. This role involves translating strategic priorities into an actionable implementation strategy with clear objectives, milestones, and timelines, providing enhanced visibility into organizational performance and initiative status for executive leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead organizational initiatives on behalf of the Sheriff
  • Coordinate the implementation of strategic priorities across the Sheriff’s Office divisions.
  • Monitor organizational performance and ensuring the timely execution of the Sheriff office priorities.
  • Prepare executive briefings, reports, presentations, and performance metrics for the Sheriff and DOF executive leadership.
  • Coordinate interagency initiatives and executive communications involving DOF leadership, sister agencies, law enforcement partners, and other external stakeholders.
  • Support implementation of new legislation, technology initiatives and organizational changes.
  • Manage executive projects and special assignments assigned by the Sheriff.
  • Serve as a senior strategic advisor to the Sheriff on organizational priorities and agency initiatives.
  • Coordinate change management activities within the Sheriff’s Office to support continuous organizational improvement.
