We are currently looking for a Director of Operations to join our West Des Moines Office! The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Reefer/Van truckload operations. Great full-time first shift schedule of Monday-Friday 7am-5pm! A day in the life of a Decker Director of Operations looks like: Assisting in day-to-day operations of a 250+ Reefer/Van Fleet to ensure productivity expectations with utilization, quality, safety, service and cost-effective management of assets Daily checkouts with each Driver Leader Assisting the Shop Foreman and personnel with maintenance/securement related issues Working with Driver Leader direct reports to ensure all PMs are completed on time, with no overdue results Assisting Sales in maintaining Customer relations while also playing a key role in startups with new accounts Assisting Network Team in securing freight from broker boards for tough reload areas Liaison between other departments and operations personnel for additional assistance on needed paperwork, actions, and information Assists COO in development of budgets and goals Monitors KPI’s to ensure goal attainment is achieved Responsible for hiring/disciplinary actions and performance reviews of employees Development of direct reports through regular 1-1s and quarterly performance reviews Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
  • 4 year degree in a business field preferred
  • Expert knowledge of the internet and Microsoft Office software
  • Logistics experience/knowledge of trucking industry
  • 3-5 years job related experience required
  • Previous Supervisory experience in a Transportation environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Qualcomm/Omnitracs, PTI, CSA Performer, McLeod systems is a plus.

Responsibilities
