Role Description Direct work in all areas of manufacturing operations including production and materials management to ensure a world-class production facility of the highest quality, production rates, and safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering or other related discipline, or equivalent experience preferred, Master’s Degree and APICS certification a plus
  • 5 years management experience in manufacturing preferred; experience with medical equipment manufacturing, particularly with CT and Imaging a plus
  • Product Engineering, manufacturing engineering, fab management and/or operations in a certified manufacturing organization (ISO 13485 preferred)
  • Experience with new product introduction
  • FDA regulations experience
  • Experience in materials management, from planning through purchasing, and negotiation and administration of multi-million dollar procurement agreements
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing Techniques and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Experience with the full range of worldwide sub-contract manufacturers and familiarity with their capabilities, pricing strategies, and negotiation tactics
  • Success deploying commercial components into high-volume production with fast time-to-market and cost-sensitivity requirements
  • Large and small company experience, ideally in leading manufacturing in a rapid-growth environment
  • Must demonstrate fluent English verbal and written communication skills and work effectively in a demanding, fast paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, and motivate personnel in order to balance staffing strength with profitability and growth
  • Must be able to assemble facts from various areas, analyze data, and provide informed recommendations to management
  • Budget, expense, and resource management experience required
  • You must be comfortable with technology, and be able demonstrate proficiency with MS Office package, including Excel, Word, and Powerpoint; as well as Outlook, Internet Explorer, and Google Chrome

  • Frequently required to sit at a desk for extended periods; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
  • Frequently required to walk the production floor
  • Interaction with x-ray devices requires strict adherence to safety and tracking protocols, including the use of dose monitoring equipment
  • The noise level in the work environment may occasionally be very loud
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

Responsibilities

  • Manage employees and hands-on operation of the Company’s manufacturing function, whether in-house or sub-contracted
  • Establish goals and objectives for all manufacturing functions and review performance against operating plans and standards
  • Identify training needs, initiate development of subordinates, recommend effective personnel action
  • Keep employees informed as to the company/department plans and processes
  • Ensure all department policies and safety procedures are followed at all times
  • Ensure that, as the Company grows, manufacturing capabilities meet or exceed all industry and customer requirements for cost, quality, and responsiveness
  • Work closely with COO on manufacturing plans, goals, and future product innovations
  • Assist COO with client companies and manufacturing partners
  • Develop and manage budgeting and budget execution with a focus on product costs and margins
  • Define and recommend objectives in each operating area; Develop specific short-term and long term plans and programs, together with supporting budget requests and financial estimates
  • Create, review, and submit to COO all budgets and spending of the manufacturing operations department
  • Create, review, and submit to COO plans for the control of planned outputs, budget spending, labor efficiency, material efficiency, and manufacturing engineering effectiveness
  • Direct all production control, production process development, quality systems, purchasing, and shipping/receiving activities
  • Assist COO in the development of plans for new areas of technology for the manufacturing functions
  • Partner with other departments to lead improve Company processes and meet Quality goals
  • Follow all company policies regarding travel, expenses, meetings, and meals
  • Required to wear dosimeter when in direct contact with radiation emitting devices
