About The Position

Bighorn Airways, Inc. is seeking an experienced aviation executive to serve as Director of Operations. This role provides strategic leadership, regulatory oversight, and operational control for all Part 135 and Part 91 flight operations, ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and performance. Bighorn Airways is a diversified aviation company operating a fleet of aircraft supporting U.S. Government smokejumper and para-cargo missions in Alaska and the lower 48 states, as well as overseas operations. Requirements

FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate
Minimum of 5,000 total flight hours
Part 135 or Part 121 operational experience
Must meet 14 CFR Part 119.71(a) Management Personnel
Proven leadership in flight operations management
Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, OpSpecs, and Safety Management Systems

Responsibilities

Provides strategic leadership, regulatory oversight, and operational control for all Part 135 and Part 91 flight operations.
Ensures the highest standards of safety, compliance, and performance.
Holds FAA-designated authority and is responsible for operational control, regulatory compliance, safety management, and leadership of flight operations personnel.
Oversees Chief Pilots, flight training, operational planning, and compliance with FAA and international regulatory requirements.
This position is also a flying position and you must be able to obtain a first class medical.
