The Director of Operations will provide strategic and hands-on leadership across all operational functions, including Receiving, Production, Repair, Quality Control, Inventory Management, Parts, Finished Goods, eCommerce Fulfillment, Logistics & Shipping. This leader will own end-to-end operational performance from intake through finished goods and shipment while driving operational scalability, process standardization, inventory control, workforce development, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is a proven operational leader with deep experience scaling high-mix manufacturing, remanufacturing, ITAD, or technology operations environments. They must possess a strong background in Lean operations, production capacity planning, inventory management, workflow optimization, and building high-performing teams of 100+ employees. This role requires a data-driven leader capable of balancing strategic operational planning with daily floor execution in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment. Our business is scaling rapidly, increasing operational complexity across refurbishment, logistics, inventory management, compliance, and customer delivery. As volume grows, we must improve throughput, standardization, inventory accuracy, quality, and operational visibility—without sacrificing customer satisfaction or operational discipline. PlanITROI is seeking a leader who can successfully scale a complex, high-volume refurbishment and logistics operation while maintaining operational excellence across all functions. This role is responsible for driving sustainable growth through process optimization, inventory accuracy, quality control, compliance adherence, workforce productivity, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate must be able to balance speed, cost, and operational discipline in a fast-paced environment while implementing scalable systems, standardized processes, and continuous improvement initiatives that support long-term business objectives.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive hands-on operations leadership experience in: Manufacturing, Remanufacturing, ITAD, Reverse Logistics, or High-volume technology operations
  • Proven experience leading and scaling operations teams of 100+ employees
  • Strong experience in production capacity planning and workflow optimization
  • Demonstrated success in improving productivity while reducing operational costs
  • Experience implementing scalable operational processes and procedures
  • Deep expertise in inventory management, warehouse operations, and logistics
  • Experience operating within highly regulated and compliance-driven environments
  • Strong ERP/WMS systems experience
  • Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing certification
  • Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher Program experience desired
  • eCommerce fulfillment and “Pick & Pack” operations experience
  • Project Management experience desired
  • Experience leading operational transformation initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily leadership, coaching, and accountability across all operational departments
  • Lead a high-volume, high-mix ITAD/remanufacturing operation with a focus on productivity, quality, and scalability
  • Drive execution against production goals, SLAs, and operational KPIs
  • Ensure balanced workflow, labor optimization, and rapid issue resolution across departments
  • Create a culture of accountability, urgency, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Develop, implement, and optimize standardized operational workflows and procedures
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and 5S initiatives throughout the facility
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement scalable process improvements
  • Improve throughput, turnaround times, labor efficiency, and production capacity
  • Partner with leadership to implement automation and system-driven operational workflows
  • Own inventory accuracy, control, visibility, and material flow throughout the operation
  • Lead Non-SN & SN inventory management and warehouse operations
  • Reduce aging inventory, awaiting parts queues, and operational delays
  • Lead parts forecasting and demand planning to ensure uninterrupted production flow
  • Ensure ERP/WMS system integrity and inventory reporting accuracy
  • Lead Quality Control operations to ensure all finished goods meet or exceed client and company standards
  • Ensure operational compliance with: R2V3, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, NIST, NAID
  • Maintain audit readiness, documentation integrity, and process adherence
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives
  • Develop and manage operational dashboards and KPI reporting
  • Track and report metrics including Units received, Production output, Repair status, Untested inventory, Aging inventory, Awaiting parts, Finished goods, Shipping performance
  • Provide timely operational reporting to executive leadership and corporate clients
  • Use data-driven decision-making to improve operational performance
  • Build, lead, coach, and develop a highly-performing Operations and Production team of 100+ employees
  • Mentor frontline leaders and create succession planning initiatives
  • Drive employee engagement, accountability, and performance management
  • Foster a culture focused on safety, teamwork, operational excellence, and continuous learning
  • Partner closely with Sales, eCommerce, Supply Chain, Client Services, and Executive Leadership
  • Align production output with customer demand and client specifications
  • Support strategic growth initiatives and operational expansion plans
