About The Position

Alliance Technical Group is seeking a Director of Operations for the Gulf Coast area. This leadership role is responsible for Field Services activities, planning, directing, and coordinating Area Compliance Managers (ACMs) and their teams. The DOO ensures the highest level of safety awareness, regulatory compliance, and environmental compliance specific to each site’s permitting. Key activities include managing recruiting, sales, scheduling, technical training, cost estimation, customer service, and asset allocation. The DOO is accountable for inspiring and executing strategies to achieve optimum safety, quality, service, productivity, and profitability. This role ensures operations personnel comply with all company SOPs, Safety and Quality Programs, and resolves customer complaints. The DOO partners with the VP of Operations and Sales for business development, participates in business reviews, new account strategy, and has hiring/firing decision-making authority within their group.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in process or environmental engineering or experience equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of related experience and/or training in a process environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in an environmental services management utilizing QMR.
  • Proven technical leadership with the ability to utilize structured problem-solving methods to deliver results.
  • Demonstrated competence to work with minimum supervision effectively with all levels in the organization.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with the willingness and ability to learn new systems.
  • Ability to work independently and must be a self-starter.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures Area Compliance Managers, and their teams maintain the highest level of safety awareness and regulatory compliance across all sites in the region.
  • Ensures each site maintains environmental compliance specific to its permitting requirements.
  • Fosters a strong safety culture across the region; holds ACMs accountable for correcting non-compliance issues.
  • Accountable for regional Field Audit Observations, audit readiness reporting, and EOP review oversight.
  • Accountable for CAPA completion, KPI preparation, and KPI meetings across the region.
  • Investigates and manages Quality Near Misses and Quality Incidents reported within the region.
  • Accountable for the annual regional project budget, project forecasting, and P&L management across all sites.
  • Reviews and approves capital expenditure (Capex) requests and tracking for the region.
  • Tracks project gross margin and utilization across the region; approves time and expense as required.
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates Area Compliance Managers and Site Supervisors in the day-to-day execution of LDAR and inside-the-fence compliance monitoring programs across the region.
  • Maintains and reviews the regional Master Site List; ensures accuracy and timely updates.
  • Reviews test plans and reports; ensures scheduling and resource allocation align with client and regulatory requirements.
  • Accountable for hiring, interviewing, disciplinary action, promotions, and succession planning across the region, in partnership with the People Team.
  • Assigns training and ensures completion across ACMs and their teams.
  • Partners with Sales and the Commercial team to develop proposals, cost estimates, and pricing for renewals and new business within the region.
  • Resolves customer service issues and maintains strong client relationships across regional accounts.
  • Performs all duties with integrity, safety, and professionalism.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Execute supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Will have responsibility for ACMs, Supervisors, and Lead Personnel, as well as the broader field technician workforce.
  • Accountable for opening requisitions, reviewing resumes, and conducting interviews for open positions within the region.
  • Accountable for disciplinary action, promotions, and succession planning across the region, executed in partnership with the People Team.
  • Accountable for annual performance reviews and Good Place to Work survey action items across the region.
