As the Director of Operations, you will lead a high‑volume, 24/7 distribution operation and ensure exceptional performance in safety, quality, service, and cost. This role oversees multi‑shift teams, drives operational excellence, and leads continuous improvement initiatives that support business growth and customer service commitments. You will play a critical role in shaping operational strategy, developing leaders, and ensuring regulatory compliance across a complex, fast‑paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of operations experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role within a large, complex, or regulated distribution, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multi‑shift or 24/7 operations.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain operations, inventory management, and Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, performance metrics, and operational KPIs.
  • Experience using operational systems and tools (e.g., Labor Management Systems, WMS, Slot Active, CoPilot, analytics platforms).

  • Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical distribution, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience leading automation, engineering, or technology‑driven operational improvements.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and cross‑functional leadership skills.
  • Experience leading large‑scale change management initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end‑to‑end distribution operations across multiple shifts, ensuring strong performance in safety, quality, service, productivity, and cost.
  • Champion a safety‑first culture by driving incident prevention, regulatory compliance, and consistent safe work practices.
  • Ensure full audit and regulatory readiness, including DSCSA and all applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with enterprise goals and customer expectations.
  • Drive continuous improvement using BOS metrics, standard work, Lean/Six Sigma tools, and data‑driven action plans.
  • Improve throughput, service levels, and workflow efficiency through engineering‑based solutions such as layout optimization, material flow, automation, and equipment reliability.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing leadership team; build engagement, accountability, and retention across all shifts.
  • Manage operating budgets, financial performance, and cost‑to‑serve metrics to achieve profitability targets.
  • Partner cross‑functionally with Sales, Finance, Regulatory, IT, HR, and external vendors to execute business strategies and resolve operational challenges.
  • Lead change management initiatives related to operational transformation, process redesign, and new technology implementations.
