About The Position

Berman's Workspace is a growing commercial services organization delivering integrated facility solutions throughout Central Florida. Our Facility Services division includes Commercial Landscaping, Janitorial Services, and Maintenance/Fleet Operations. As our organization continues to grow, we are seeking an executive-level operations leader who can drive operational excellence, financial performance, leadership development, and organizational scalability across multiple business units. The Director of Operations – Facility Services provides operational and financial leadership for three business units: Landscaping, Janitorial, and Maintenance/Fleet. This position reports directly to the Executive Vice President and serves as a member of the executive leadership team. This executive-level role leads through business unit leaders to strengthen profitability, accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across the organization.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive operations leadership experience.
  • Experience leading multiple business units or regional operations.
  • Significant P&L responsibility and demonstrated financial ownership.
  • Experience managing managers or senior operational leaders.
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning experience.
  • Proven ability to improve operational performance through systems, leadership, and accountability.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in commercial services, facilities management, landscaping, janitorial, maintenance, construction services, property services, or another labor-intensive service organization is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Business Unit Leaders responsible for Landscaping, Janitorial, and Maintenance/Fleet operations.
  • Establish clear accountability throughout the organization.
  • Develop future operational leaders and strengthen leadership bench depth.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, execution, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner effectively with Finance, Human Resources, Sales, and Executive Leadership.
  • Own operational budgets, forecasts, and related financial planning.
  • Drive profitable performance across all assigned business units.
  • Evaluate labor utilization, overtime, subcontractor costs, fleet expenses, and job costing.
  • Develop project budgets and financial models that support sound operational decisions.
  • Ensure operational decisions align with company financial objectives.
  • Identify operational trends before they negatively affect financial performance.
  • Improve processes, systems, reporting, and operational consistency.
  • Monitor capacity, backlog, work order aging, scheduling, and service delivery performance.

  • Develop reporting that drives action, accountability, and measurable improvement.
  • Lead reorganizations and operational improvement initiatives.
  • Develop implementation plans with clear milestones, owners, and success measures.
