About The Position

At Colliers, we are seeking an experienced Director of Operations to join our REMS team. This is an onsite position based in Ontario, CA or Irvine, CA. The ideal candidate will have strong client relationship skills, superior organizational abilities, attention to detail, and a positive attitude. You will play a central role in customer care, coaching, mentoring, and developing a dynamic team to achieve departmental and organizational goals. As the Director of Operations, you will be involved in all aspects of managing an office, retail, and industrial portfolio on behalf of our clients. You will work collaboratively, oversee a dynamic team, and be comfortable handling operations, financial, and administrative activities. You will also manage important relationships with tenants, property owners, and vendors. This role offers the opportunity to share innovative ideas to continually add value, consult with new and existing clients, and find creative solutions to strategically position assets.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6+ years of progressive third-party experience managing commercial real estate.
  • Proven leadership experience.
  • Must possess a valid real estate license.
  • Strong interpersonal skills along with a high degree of professionalism and experience managing staff.
  • Must have strong experience with real estate software such as YARDI, MRI, etc.
  • Strong understanding of financial reports, basic business fundamentals, including P&L management.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Industry-specific certification such as CPM and/or RPA preferred.
  • Understanding of market cycles and the ability to set short and long-term strategies.
  • Demonstrate accountability with budget and capital expense.

Responsibilities

  • Successfully manage, lead, and develop the property management staff in the market consistently, ensuring thorough staff understanding and implementation of operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the property owner, tenants, vendors, and contractors.
  • Effectively mentor and manage your team to reach overall organizational goals.
  • Successfully assist in establishing and maintaining strategic relations with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Successfully expand the business base through regular contact with key clients and prospective clients.
  • Effectively manage your day and can anticipate challenges and respond accordingly.
  • Maintain existing clients while continually expanding the business base through regular contact with key clients.
  • Directly manage portfolio properties as necessary.
  • Enjoy active recruiting within the marketplace to grow the office strategically in certain defined market segments while setting growth targets for each year.
