About The Position

MetroLINK is hiring a Director of Operations to oversee the people and performance behind public transportation in the Quad Cities. This key management role leads daily transit operations and service delivery while developing staff, improving operational performance, and advancing service excellence. The position offers a starting salary of $80,000–$110,967 and benefits that include an IMRF pension and 457 plan.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Transportation, or a related field and 5 years of fleet operations experience, including 2 years in a supervisory or management role; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in logistics, transportation, unionized environments, safety-sensitive operations, or 24/7 service environments is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily transit operations and service delivery.
• Develop and coach Operations supervisors and staff.
• Establish goals, performance expectations, and work standards.
• Drive process improvements and operational excellence.
• Promote safety, accountability, and compliance.
• Use data to improve performance and service.
• Partner with leadership and HR on staffing, employee relations, labor relations, and organizational priorities.
