About The Position

JF Restaurants is a New York City-based hospitality group led by Michelin-starred Chef and Restaurateur John Fraser. The Director of Operations will oversee and elevate operations across multiple properties, ensuring that every JFR restaurant delivers a consistently exceptional standard of service, financial performance, and guest experience. This is a senior leadership role for a hospitality professional who understands how to operate at both altitude and detail—equally fluent in strategy, numbers, and service execution. The Director of Operations serves as a key senior leader within JF Restaurants, responsible for the operational integrity, performance, and culture of our F&B portfolio. This role bridges ownership vision, executive leadership, and on-the-ground operations, ensuring alignment across all restaurants and markets. You will not be removed from the floor—you will be expected to engage directly with service, leadership teams, and guest experience, while also driving long-term operational and financial strategy.

Requirements

  • 7–15+ years of senior multi-unit operations experience
  • Proven track record managing multi-restaurant or multi-property P&L responsibility
  • Strong background in both luxury and high-performing hospitality environments
  • Equally comfortable on the floor, in financial analysis, and in strategic planning
  • A natural operator with strong instincts for service, systems, and people
  • Experienced in building, coaching, and scaling leadership teams
  • Highly disciplined, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure
  • A clear communicator with strong emotional intelligence and integrity
  • Willingness to travel between properties and markets as needed
  • Ability to engage directly in active service environments
  • Flexibility to support evenings, weekends, and peak operational periods

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day performance across multiple restaurants and markets
  • Ensure consistent execution of JFR service standards across all properties
  • Maintain an active presence in operations, including service periods and site visits
  • Strengthen systems that support consistency, quality, and scalability
  • Partner in full P&L ownership across multiple outlets
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
  • Drive profitability through labor optimization, cost discipline, and revenue strategy
  • Monitor and respond to performance trends across properties in real time
  • Directly support and develop General Managers and senior restaurant leadership
  • Establish clear KPIs, accountability structures, and operational expectations
  • Build a culture of excellence, ownership, and professional growth across teams
  • Identify and develop future leaders within the organization
  • Implement and refine JFR operational systems, standards, and SOPs
  • Support openings, transitions, and performance turnarounds as needed
  • Ensure menus, service programs, and guest experiences are executed at a high level
  • Collaborate with culinary and executive teams on continuous improvement
  • Safeguard the integrity of the JFR guest experience across all locations
  • Ensure alignment between culinary vision, service execution, and brand identity
  • Act as a key driver of hospitality culture throughout the organization
  • Work closely with ownership, culinary leadership, HR, and finance teams
  • Translate strategic objectives into clear operational execution
  • Provide transparent reporting and insight on business performance
