The company is seeking an experienced manufacturing leader to serve as the Director of Operations, providing strategic and operational leadership for two manufacturing facilities. This role is crucial for the overall performance of production operations, overseeing a team of approximately 150 associates, including Production Managers and Supervisors. The Director of Operations will be responsible for setting clear expectations, developing leaders, fostering accountability, and implementing sustainable systems to enhance safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and financial performance. The ideal candidate will focus on people development, strengthening manufacturing systems, and building operational capabilities to support SRC Automotive's long-term growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in operations management or related field or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, including responsibility for large production teams.
  • Demonstrated success leading through managers and supervisors rather than relying on direct day-to-day oversight.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, production planning, and capacity management
  • Experience improving safety, quality, delivery, labor efficiency, productivity, and cost performance.
  • Strong financial and business acumen with the ability to understand how operational decisions impact overall company performance.
  • Experience developing leaders, building high-performing teams, and creating accountability at multiple levels of an organization.
  • Ability to balance immediate production needs with longer-term operational strategy and capability building.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, or similar continuous improvement experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership and direction for production operations across two manufacturing facilities.
  • Lead and develop the Facility Manager and Production Manager while building capability and accountability throughout the supervisory team.
  • Establish and execute operational strategies that support company goals for safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity.
  • Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, labor performance, capacity utilization, workflow, and overall operational efficiency.
  • Use operational and financial data to identify trends, constraints, and opportunities and translate them into clear action plans.
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, HR, Finance, and other functions to resolve operational challenges and support business objectives.
  • Develop and manage production budgets, forecasts, staffing plans, and resource requirements.
  • Ensure production capacity and workforce capabilities are aligned with current demand and future business needs.
  • Build a strong culture of accountability, problem-solving, continuous improvement, and employee ownership.
  • Coach and develop managers and supervisors, strengthening the leadership bench and succession pipeline within Operations.
  • Ensure consistent operating practices, communication, and expectations across both facilities.
