Director of Operations - SFL

Newbold Corporation•Coral Springs, FL
•Onsite

About The Position

Newbold Technologies is seeking a Director of Operations to own end-to-end payment operations at our South Florida facility. This role carries full accountability for five interdependent functions — Warehouse & Inventory, Quality Control, Key Injection, Deployment & Fulfillment, and Repair & Depot Services — supporting ISOs, ISVs, payment processors, gateways, and enterprise retail and QSR clients nationwide. The facility operates a certified Key Injection Facility (KIF) subject to PCI PIN Security Standard requirements. The Director is accountable for the operational integrity, audit readiness, and physical security posture of that environment, working in partnership with the designated KIF Security Officer. This is a hands-on leadership role. The right candidate is equally comfortable walking the floor at 7:00 AM to unblock a same-day deployment and presenting throughput and cost-per-unit metrics to executive leadership the same afternoon.

Requirements

  • Degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Eight or more years of progressive operations leadership experience, including three or more years at a manager or director level with multi-function accountability.
  • Demonstrated experience leading warehouse, fulfillment, QC, or depot repair operations in a high-volume, SLA-driven environment.
  • Proven track record managing and developing multi-level teams, including supervisors.
  • Working proficiency with ERP systems and inventory management platforms, with demonstrated ability to use system data to drive operational decisions.
  • Strong analytical capability — comfortable building models, interpreting performance data, and defending conclusions with numbers.
  • Experience owning an operating budget and delivering documented cost reduction.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including client-facing presentation experience.
  • Ability to work on-site in Coral Springs, Florida during core business hours, with flexibility to support off-hours deployment activity as needed. This position is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience in the payments industry — payment terminal deployment, key injection, POS hardware distribution, or merchant services operations.
  • Familiarity with the PCI PIN Security Standard, PCI P2PE, or prior TR-39 audit environments.
  • Hands-on knowledge of major terminal platforms (Ingenico, PAX, Verifone, Castles, Dejavoo) and associated injection tooling.
  • Experience serving ISO, ISV, processor, or gateway channel partners.
  • Acumatica ERP experience, particularly with inventory, project accounting, or service management modules.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or above), APICS CPIM/CSCP, or PMP.
  • Experience supporting e-commerce fulfillment operations alongside B2B enterprise programs.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Own daily performance across warehouse, QC, key injection, deployment, and repair, ensuring all client SLAs are met or exceeded.
  • Establish and maintain the daily and weekly operating cadence — production planning, shift huddles, capacity reviews, and escalation paths.
  • Build capacity models that forecast labor, bench space, and equipment needs against pipeline volume, seasonal peaks, and large enterprise rollouts.
  • Serve as the senior operational escalation point for client-impacting issues, coordinating with Sales, Account Management, and Client Services on resolution and communication.
  • Direct large-scale, multi-site deployment programs from kickoff through post-deployment reconciliation, including staging, kitting, custom configuration, and scheduled delivery waves.
  • Maintain operational readiness for PCI PIN Security Standard assessments and any applicable processor, estate owner, or brand-specific audits.
  • Manage relationships and technical coordination with processors, gateways, and OEMs regarding key exchange, injection authorizations, and certification requirements.
  • Own corrective action plans, remediation timelines, and evidence packages for any audit or internal finding.
  • Define, document, and enforce QC standards, inspection criteria, and sampling methodology across inbound receiving, refurbishment, injection verification, and outbound final inspection.
  • Drive measurable reduction in defect escape rate, RMA-on-arrival rates, and rework hours through root cause analysis and permanent corrective action.
  • Deploy Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S methodologies to reduce cycle time, touch points, and cost per unit across all value streams.
  • Standardize SOPs and work instructions for every operational function; ensure documentation is version-controlled, audit-ready, and used as the basis for training.
  • Establish a formal continuous improvement pipeline with tracked initiatives, assigned owners, quantified savings, and executive-level reporting.
  • Own inventory accuracy targets, cycle count programs, bin and location strategy, and physical inventory execution.
  • Manage serialized inventory integrity for terminals, peripherals, and accessories, including consignment and client-owned stock segregation.
  • Optimize facility layout, storage density, and material flow to support growth without proportional square footage or headcount increases.
  • Oversee inbound receiving, put-away, replenishment, pick/pack/ship, and carrier management, including small parcel and LTL freight cost optimization.
  • Ensure warehouse operations properly support both B2B enterprise fulfillment and e-commerce order flow, including bundled hardware, accessory, and service SKUs.
  • Direct depot repair operations including intake triage, diagnostics, refurbishment, cosmetic grading, and return-to-stock processes.
  • Manage warranty versus billable repair determination, OEM warranty claim recovery, and repair yield and scrap rate performance.
  • Establish repair turnaround time (TAT) standards by service tier and hold the function accountable to them.
  • Oversee spare parts planning, advance replacement pool sizing, and e-waste and asset disposition in compliance with environmental and data destruction requirements.
  • Ensure operational data integrity — accurate transaction posting, real-time inventory positions, and complete device history records.
  • Identify and eliminate manual, spreadsheet-based, or duplicative processes through system configuration, integration, or automation.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a multi-level team of supervisors, technicians, QC inspectors, and warehouse associates.
  • Set clear performance expectations, conduct structured performance reviews, and manage performance issues directly and fairly.
  • Own recruiting, onboarding, and retention strategy for the facility in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Cultivate a culture of accountability, safety, and operational discipline where standards are followed because they are understood, not merely enforced.
  • Deliver year-over-year cost-per-unit improvement across injection, staging, kitting, deployment, and repair services.
  • Model and validate labor cost per transaction to support accurate service pricing and margin protection.
  • Manage vendor and supplier relationships including freight carriers, staffing agencies, packaging suppliers, equipment providers, and repair component sources — negotiating terms, monitoring performance, and conducting periodic business reviews.
  • Evaluate capital expenditure requests with documented ROI justification and payback analysis.
  • Participate in client onboarding, operational scoping calls, statements of work, and site visits for ISO, ISV, processor, gateway, and enterprise retail and QSR accounts.
  • Translate client requirements into executable operational workflows with documented acceptance criteria.
  • Conduct client-facing operational reviews covering SLA performance, quality metrics, and improvement roadmaps.
  • Support Sales with operational feasibility assessments, capacity commitments, and RFP responses.
  • Coordinate with Newbold’s Greenville, Toronto, Milwaukee, and Medway facilities to align standards, balance capacity, and share best practices.
  • Maintain a safe working environment in compliance with OSHA and applicable state and local regulations.
  • Own safety training, incident investigation, corrective action, and recordkeeping.
  • Ensure compliance with data security, chain-of-custody, and confidentiality requirements for all client-owned assets and cardholder-adjacent environments.
  • Maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans appropriate to a hurricane-exposed South Florida facility.

Benefits

  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening, as required for access to secure payment environments.
