About The Position

The Director of Operations, Volleyball & Softball provides comprehensive administrative and logistical leadership for a multi-sport portfolio, ensuring operational continuity across overlapping Fall and Spring competitive seasons. Serving as the primary liaison between the Athletic Business Office and external vendors (e.g., Anthony Travel), this role is responsible for the end-to-end strategic planning and execution of team travel, including flights, lodging, and ground transportation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Two (2) years of experience in a professional setting.
  • Knowledge of intercollegiate athletics administrative structure and responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of athletics policies and procedures and federal, state, and other applicable, related laws, rules, regulations, and ordinances.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office and Google Suite products.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize within unit and department environment as well manage large-scale athletics-related projects.

Responsibilities

  • Directs all aspects of team travel and meal coordination; develops emergency management strategies and anticipates logistical changes to ensure seamless execution under uncertain conditions.
  • Manages team budgets through rigorous financial analysis and resource optimization; performs high-level reconciliation of Travel and Purchase cards in strict accordance with University, NCAA, and Big Ten Conference regulations.
  • Oversees the planning of official/unofficial recruiting visits, fundraising initiatives, and special team events while fostering professional relationships with local and national vendors.
  • Projects long-term resource needs and develops efficient workflows to promote the sustained success of Olympic sports special projects.
