Requirements

  • Must be a licensed physician, registered nurse, or possess a bachelor degree.
  • Must have demonstrated experience in health service administration with at least one year in a supervisory or administrative capacity.
  • Must not have been employed in the last year as an administrator with another operation at the time any enforcement action was taken against the business; further described in the company compliance policies.
  • Must have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the federal, state and local laws and regulatory guidelines that govern the operation of a home care office.
  • Must have intermediate demonstrated technology skills, including operation of a mobile device.
  • Must possess a valid state driver license
  • Must maintain automobile liability insurance as required by law
  • Must maintain dependable transportation in good working condition
  • Must be able to safely drive an automobile in all types of weather conditions

Nice To Haves

  • A licensed physician, registered nurse, licensed social worker, licensed therapist, or a licensed nursing home administrator with at least one year of management and supervisory experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Previous experience in a home health care or hospice program is preferred.
  • Must comply with Colorado state regulation 6CCR 1011-1 (7.6) requiring 24 hours of training in the first 12 months if a first time administrator, 8 hours of which must be completed within the first month of employment. Must have documented completion of a minimum of 12 clock hours per year at a health administration seminar or through an approved provider.
  • A master degree in nursing with an active license to practice nursing in the state and at least one year of supervisory or administrative experience in a health care facility program which included care of the sick; or a master degree in public health or administration with a concentration of study in health services administration, and at least one year of supervisory or administrative experience in a health care facility or program which included care of the sick; or a baccalaureate degree in nursing with an active license to practice nursing in the state and at least two years supervisory or administrative experience in a health care facility or program which included care of the sick; or a baccalaureate degree in administration with a concentration of study in health services administration and at least two years supervisory or administrative experience in a health care facility or program which included care of the sick; or a physician licensed to practice medicine and surgery in the state of Connecticut who has had at least one year supervisory or administrative experience in a health care facility or program which included care of the sick; or employment as the administrator of a home health care agency in this state as of January 1, 1981, who has been so employed continuously for the five years immediately preceding January 1, 1981; or continuous employment as an administrator of a home health care agency as of January 1, 1979 ; except that on and after January 1, 1986, no person shall be employed as an administrator of a home health care agency pursuant to this subdivision unless such person additionally meets one of the requirements above. Must be administrator for only one agency.
  • Must have a Bacculaereate degree with five years home health care experience and one year of supervisory experience in home health; or must be a registered nurse with five years health care experience and one year of supervisory experience.
  • Must be administrator for only one agency; or manage up to five agencies located within one agency geographic service area or within immediate contiguous counties and have identical controlling interest.
  • Must have at least one year of supervisory or administrative experience in home health care or a related health provider program; or must meet the requirements for a public health administrator.
  • Administrator must reside within the serivce area for the provider
  • Must have three years management experience in health care service delivery.
  • Must possess education in health services or administration, evidenced by being a physician; registered nurse; or college graduate with a bachelor degree in a health-related field. Must also have at least one year of supervisory experience in hospital, home health, or public health program management.
  • Must possess an Oklahoma administrator license. Must complete 12 continuing education units per year.
  • Must comply with Texas state regulation 97.259 a-g requiring 24 hours of training in the first 12 months if a first time administrator. Must have documented completion of a minimum of 12 clock hours per year at a health administration seminar or through an approved provider.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the local chief executive agent.
  • Lead the local provider(s) in a better way to care for the community in which it serves, and contribute to the overall success of the company.
  • Ensure the execution of operations are completed daily.
  • Manage operations, services, personnel performance, and office management ongoing.
