About The Position

The Director of Operations, Alberta North, provides strategic and operational leadership across a network of clinics, with accountability for performance, patient experience, and team effectiveness. This role plays a critical part in expanding access to care, optimizing clinic operations, and building high-performing teams within a coaching-driven culture. Partnering closely with radiologists, clinical leaders, clinic teams and the executive team, the Director translates organizational priorities into operational execution while ensuring clinics deliver remarkable care for patients and remarkable career opportunities for employees.

Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare or a similarly complex, multi-site service environment.
  • Proven success leading leaders and building high-performing, engaged teams.
  • Strong operational leadership experience, with a track record of improving performance, access, and service delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, scale operations, and implement process improvements.
  • Experience managing budgets, resources, and operational planning in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working alongside physicians or equivalent partners.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • All applicants must have legal authorization to work in Canada.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting facility expansion, capital projects, or equipment planning is an asset.
  • Post-Secondary education in a relevant field (healthcare, business, or related discipline) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations across Edmonton-area clinics, ensuring efficient, high-quality service delivery aligned with organizational standards.
  • Translate strategic priorities into actionable operational plans that improve patient access, flow, and overall clinic performance.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (e.g., patient volumes, fill rates, wait times, no show rates, patient satisfaction) and proactively adjust operations to achieve targets.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing models and resource allocation to meet patient demand while maintaining a high standard of care.
  • Support and lead the physicians’ relations teams in the Edmonton area to help market and promote CDC as the top choice for diagnostic imaging to referring physicians.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of operational and clinical leaders, including core operations, ultrasound, and X-ray leadership teams.
  • Build leadership capability at all levels, reinforcing a coaching culture that supports accountability, growth, and engagement of all employees.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance environment where teams are empowered to deliver remarkable patient experiences and build remarkable careers at CDC.
  • Strengthen collaboration between clinic modality teams and radiologists.
  • Champion a patient-centered approach to care, ensuring processes, workflows, and environments reflect patient needs and expectations.
  • Actively seek and incorporate patient and provider feedback into operational improvements and service delivery strategies.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance patient access, quality, efficiency, and consistency across clinics.
  • Support clinic expansions, renovations, and new builds from planning through execution, partnering with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to capital planning, including equipment lifecycle management, replacement strategies, and new technology implementation.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, contract evaluation, and service delivery to ensure operational needs and quality standards are met.
  • Ensure clinics are maintained to a high standard, with minimal disruption to patient care.
  • Partner with executive leadership, physicians, regulatory bodies, and external advisors to support operational excellence and compliance.
  • Ensure appropriate policies, processes, and controls are in place to mitigate risk and support safe, effective operations.
  • Lead effective communication across teams to ensure alignment, clarity, and timely resolution of issues.
  • Contribute to the development of the Edmonton operations budget and manage within established parameters.
  • Align staffing, resources, and operational decisions with financial goals while maintaining service quality and access to care.
  • Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency without compromising patient or team experiences.
