About The Position

The Director of Nursing (DON) is a key member of the Roxbury Senior Leadership Team who will integrate and coordinate a patient-centric nursing strategy with a keen focus on patient care. The DON will ensure that the delivery of high-quality and cost-effective healthcare is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Universal Health Services (UHS) and in accordance with government regulation, licensing, and accreditation requirements. The DON participates in the hospital’s strategic planning and contributes to the achievement of institutional goals and objectives. The Director of Nursing will focus on 5 key areas: People, Service, Quality, Growth, and Finance. Roxbury Hospital & Treatment Center is a private, 112-bed detoxification/rehabilitation and psychiatric hospital located at the foothills of the scenic Blue Mountains in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. In its 60-bed chemical dependency unit, detoxification is conducted under close medical supervision. Roxbury also has an acute psychiatric unit for adults and a separate unit for adolescents treating individuals with mental illnesses who need short-term hospitalization. The facility has been providing dedicated mental health care since 1984.

Requirements

• Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in the state of PA.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a CCNE accredited nursing program.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of behavioral health nursing clinical practices and management.
• Extensive knowledge of principles and practices relevant to nursing and patient care activities.
• Demonstrated knowledge of effective management and supervisory practices.
• Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Master of Science in Nursing is strongly preferred.
• Three or more years of progressive nursing management experience in a behavioral health setting is preferred.
