About The Position

Laurel Heights Hospital is a private behavioral health facility located in Atlanta, Georgia, specializing in the treatment of children and adolescents with severe psychiatric, behavioral, and neuro-developmental difficulties. The facility includes a 92-bed private residential treatment center and a 30-bed child and adolescent inpatient unit focused on psychiatric stabilization for children and adolescents with neuro-developmental comorbidities, including autism spectrum disorders. The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) is a vital member of the Laurel Heights Leadership Team, responsible for integrating and coordinating a patient-centric nursing strategy with a hands-on approach. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective healthcare aligned with the mission, vision, and values of Universal Health Services (UHS) and in compliance with government regulations, licensing, and accreditation requirements. The CNO participates in hospital strategic planning and contributes to institutional goals. The role emphasizes five key areas: People, Service, Quality, Growth, and Finance.

Requirements

  • Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in the state of employment.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a CCNE accredited nursing program.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of behavioral health nursing clinical practices and management.
  • Extensive knowledge of principles and practices relevant to nursing and patient care activities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of effective management and supervisory practices.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Five or more years of progressive nursing management experience in a behavioral health setting.
  • Ability to plan, direct, and monitor others’ activities with demonstrated leadership abilities that contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Proficiency with common computer-based applications such as electronic mail, word processing and various databases, whether PC, network or mainframe based.
  • Occasional US travel to conferences and UHS management meetings.

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Science in Nursing is strongly preferred.
