The Director of Nursing plans, organizes, develops, and directs community clinical and medication programs in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, in compliance with the Nurse Practice Act and within standards of clinical practice as defined by the American Nurses Association. This role informs and collaborates with the Executive Director regarding clinical concerns and compliance issues, making recommendations for resolution, and serves as a clinical resource for community staff. Responsibilities include providing nursing care to residents, completing health assessments, developing and reviewing resident Care Plans with resident family members and/or Power of Attorney, discussing changes in resident condition with physicians, and implementing interventions to reduce falls. The role also involves medication administration and assisting with resident care as needed. Accountability extends to timely assessments and accurate care plans in the electronic health record, and communication with the Business Office Manager for accurate resident billing. A working knowledge of state regulations, policies, and procedures for compliance is essential. The position requires on-call availability for any shift as needed.
