About The Position

Compass Health Center is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing to join their Oak Brook leadership team. This role is crucial in building and shaping a strong culture at the location, while offering direct coaching and development to the nursing team. Requirements

  • Hold a BSN degree
  • Registered Nurse with current licensure to practice in Illinois
  • Certified in Healthcare Provider CPR
  • 7+ years of progressive nursing experience
  • Ideally with 2+ years of management experience
  • Mental health experience
  • Internal applicants must have experience successfully implementing organizational initiatives including Optimal Outcomes and Access to Care
  • High degree of leadership, excellent interpersonal communication skills, organizational ability, and time management.
  • Possess excellent therapeutic communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage the various activities of this department and to ensure that proper and timely healthcare is provided to our patients
  • Maintain and implement nursing policies and procedures that conform to current standards of nursing practice, facility philosophy, and operational policies while maintaining compliance with state and federal laws and regulations
  • Communicate and interpret policies and procedures to nursing staff, and monitor staff practices and implementation
  • Oversee personnel selection, supervision practices, and ongoing training and evaluation for the nursing department
  • Conduct staff nurse evaluations and training regarding clinical practices, EMR use, and Compass Health Center protocols
  • Collaborate with staff nurses and treatment team to develop, support and coordinate services that ensure delivery of holistic and individualized quality care to Compass Health Center patients
  • Collaborate with Senior Director of Nursing, Chief Clinical Officer, and leaders across the organization in implementation of Compass wide initiatives, including Access to Care, Optimal Outcomes, Continuity & Excellence, and Patient & Family Engagement
  • Be an active participant of the Crisis Team and serve as an alternate Incident Commander
  • Promote customer service and hospitality and responds to and adequately resolves complaints or concerns from patients and their families about nursing services
  • Assure staff is trained in fire and disaster and other emergency procedures, and evaluates performance during drills
  • Exercise overall related administrative functions and clinical responsibilities within the scope of nursing
  • Gain working knowledge and expertise of staff nurse duties and responsibilities
  • Perform other duties as requested
