About The Position

Wood Violet Recovery is seeking a skilled and collaborative Director of Nursing to lead the medical operations of their Detoxification and Residential Programs. This role provides crucial medical oversight, guides a dedicated team of RNs and LPNs, and ensures the highest standards of safety, compliance, and quality of care. Requirements

  • Current RN or NP licensure with psychiatric emphasis.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
  • 1–3 years of advanced-level Microsoft Excel experience.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to explain treatments to clients of all ages.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain.
  • Successful completion of background check, drug screen, and TB test.

Nice To Haves

  • 3–5 years of nursing experience, ideally in substance use treatment or behavioral health.
  • 1–3 years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Familiarity with medical records systems and documentation standards.
  • Experience with Utilization Review is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the onsite nursing team, ensuring exceptional delivery of detox and residential medical services.
  • Oversee the implementation, documentation, and reporting of care activities, quality improvement initiatives, and compliance standards.
  • Provide direct client care, including medication administration, lab processing, education on prescribed medications, and group facilitation as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with our Medical Director to execute individualized detox treatment plans and ensure clinical alignment.
  • Consult with providers on client health needs and contribute to diagnostic assessments and treatment planning.
  • Maintain accurate, compliant medical records and review client charts daily.
  • Administer medications and vaccinations, and ensure continuity of care across all clinical disciplines.
  • Participate actively in discharge planning, interdisciplinary case reviews, and quality improvement processes.
  • Communicate with clients and their support systems to address questions, concerns, and care coordination needs.
  • Manage medical supply inventory and ensure clinical spaces remain well-equipped.
  • Observe and document client behavior and health status as needed.
