About The Position

Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital (LBHH) is a 126-bed, inpatient psychiatric hospital and start-up joint venture between Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine and Universal Health Services. In addition to a general adult unit and dedicated adolescent unit, the facility offers services for treating those with co-occurring disorders on the psychiatric-medical unit, an intensive adult unit to care for those with severe conditions, as well as a women’s trauma unit. The Director of Nursing is responsible for completing the following duties and tasks: Serves as a key member of hospital leadership and participates in the organization’s decision making structures and processes. Participates in the hospital’s strategic planning and contributes to the achievement of institutional goals and objectives. Focuses on 5 key areas: People, Service, Quality, Growth, and Finance. PEOPLE: Creates an environment which supports employee development and teamwork to deliver compassionate patient care in a safe environment. SERVICE: Creates systems, processes and care standards to support the delivery of patient care in a safe, fiscally sound environment of service excellence. QUALITY: Provides accessible, timely, efficient, cost effective care by utilizing evidenced -based practice and continuous performance improvement. GROWTH/COMMUNITY: Fosters an environment that supports growth and community through activities, partnerships and shared goals. FINANCE: Supports an environment of financial stability to achieve the UHS mission and strategy. Maintain Nursing Policy and Procedure. Ensure safe nursing care is provided to all patients. Understand process of work flow and processes on the Unit floors. Understand Supply Management, Staffing FTE management, Position control and Budget involvement/management.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Nursing is required.
  • Five (5) years clinical experience with a psychiatric mental health population.
  • Three (3) years previous clinical supervisory role in an inpatient psychiatric setting and administrative/management experience.
