Director of Nursing (Pediatrics)
About The Position
Home Heart Florida is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) for its pediatric home health services in Sarasota. This role offers significant autonomy and influence in shaping clinical programs and developing field nurses within a rapidly growing company. The DON will be instrumental in establishing clinical standards, building the team, and developing systems to support complex pediatric care, reporting directly to the Global Administrator and working closely with the founding team.
Requirements
- Active Florida RN license
- 2+ years of pediatric nursing experience, with significant time in high-acuity or complex care
- 2+ years of home health experience
- 2+ years of clinical leadership experience (DON, ADON, clinical manager, or equivalent)
- Strong working knowledge of Medicaid, managed care, and pediatric authorizations
- Reliable transportation for local visits across Sarasota
Responsibilities
- Setting clinical standards and ensuring the team adheres to them through coaching and support.
- Building relationships with families of children with complex medical needs.
- Ensuring compliance with AHCA, Medicaid, and accreditation requirements.
- Collaborating with operations, intake, and scheduling teams to streamline the care process.
- Providing support and guidance to field nurses during complex situations.
