Director of Nursing (Pediatrics)
About The Position
Home Heart Florida is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) for its pediatric home health services in Jacksonville. This role offers significant autonomy and influence in shaping clinical programs and developing field nurses within a rapidly growing company that emphasizes a supportive and less bureaucratic environment compared to traditional agencies. The DON will have real ownership, setting clinical standards, building their team, and making key decisions, reporting directly to the Global Administrator and working with the founding team. The position is ideal for a leader who wants to make a tangible impact on patient care and company direction.
Requirements
- Active Florida RN license
- 2+ years of pediatric nursing experience, with significant time in high-acuity or complex care
- 2+ years of home health experience
- 2+ years of clinical leadership experience (DON, ADON, clinical manager, or equivalent)
- Strong working knowledge of Medicaid, managed care, and pediatric authorizations
- Reliable transportation for local visits across Jacksonville
Responsibilities
- Lead clinical operations for Jacksonville, including care plans, recertifications, documentation standards, field nurse development, and quality assurance.
- Set and maintain clinical standards through coaching and support.
- Build relationships with families navigating complex medical needs.
- Ensure compliance with AHCA, Medicaid, and accreditation requirements.
- Partner with operations, intake, and scheduling teams to streamline the care process.
- Provide support and guidance to field nurses during challenging situations.
