Director of Nursing Care
About The Position
Schlegel Villages is seeking a Director of Nursing Care to join the team at Erin Mills Lodge in Mississauga, which currently serves 76 residents. This role involves supporting the transition of the Erin Mills Lodge team and residents to The Village of Heritage Trails in Oakville, a new village opening in the coming years that will serve 320 residents. The Director of Nursing Care will work closely with the current team to ensure a seamless transition and continued growth during this expansion. This is a Permanent Full-Time position to fill a vacancy, with an expected start date of ASAP. The hiring range is $103,000-$110,900.
Requirements
- A current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current Heart Save Level of CPR.
- Three (3) years of experience leading and directing department(s) in a healthcare setting.
- Excellent communication skills.

- A caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members.
- Understanding of the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the Assistant Director of Nursing Care role.
Nice To Haves
- RNAO/RPNAO membership.
- MDS credentialed (Optional dependant on Village size).
- An awareness and understanding of infection control practices, workplace hazardous materials and chemicals (WHMIS), as well as, all relevant health and safety procedures.
- Skill in operating common hand and power tools.
