About The Position

The Director of New Directions is responsible for planning, implementing, operating and evaluating all New Directions services consistent with policies of the Board of Directors as interpreted by the Chief Administrative Officer. The Director provides services to individuals impacted by a variety of behavioral health (addiction/substance use and mental health) issues, recognizing that the individuals served often times have experienced trauma that affects their development and adjustment. The Director demonstrates a warm and welcoming empathic, hopeful attitude, conveying a philosophy of dual recovery. The Director will be trained in trauma-informed care and will work to help provide services in an environment that is sensitive and responsive which will prevent victimization, abuse, or trauma as a result of the care received.

Requirements

  • A physician or mental health professional licensed in Missouri with at least one (1) year of full-time experience in the treatment of persons with substance use disorder.
  • A person who is certified or registered as a substance abuse professional by the Missouri Substance Abuse Counselor’s Certification Board, Inc.
  • Five (5) years full-time experience in the treatment of persons with substance use disorders
  • Three (3) years’ experience providing supervision of mental health/substance use professionals.

  • Personnel management will be conducted through regular administrative meetings, daily consultations with program supervisors, regular meetings with clinical staff, conducting of in-service programs, and regular consultation with the Chief Clinical Officer.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision of all clinical and adjunct in the care and treatment of individuals impacted by substance use disorders.
  • Ensure the continued use of detailed operational procedures governing the New Directions program components as prescribed by relevant regulatory agencies.
  • Schedule networking activities through public information /education efforts to assure the general public’s awareness of Intervention.
  • Will be involved in provision and delegation of awareness/prevention, education, and orientation to specific services as required by members of the community.
  • Report to the Chief Clinical Officer on trends, significant accomplishments, and problems with personal, patients, facilities, financial and/or other resources.
  • Assume responsibility for all New Directions services.
  • Delegation of duty/authority to patient care and environment will involve the Supervisor and clinical staff.
  • Responsibility for treatment planning, therapeutic activity clinical services will pass to the counseling staff.
  • Progress reports and need identification will be expected in weekly staffing/administrative meetings.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
