The University of Colorado Denver's Political Science Department, within the College of Arts and Sciences, is seeking a part-time Program Director for its Extended Studies Graduate Program: The Center for New Directions in Public Policy and Political Science. This program focuses on graduate-level academic programs, courses, and research in politics and public policy, aiming to develop leadership capacities for addressing challenges in local communities, governmental jurisdictions, and nonprofit entities. The Center strives to be a state leader in providing academic and professional development opportunities for professionals in government, public policy, non-profit sectors, and community organizing and development. The position is under the supervision of the Department Chair and involves student and adjunct faculty recruitment, curriculum design, student credentialing oversight, class scheduling, course delivery coordination, student advising, and budgeting. Teaching courses is a possibility with a separate lecturer appointment. The role also includes building partnerships with local government jurisdictions, non-profit agencies, and civil society organizations for internship placements, with a focus on both Denver-area and small/rural Colorado jurisdictions. As a "Continuing Education" program, revenue is derived from student tuition, necessitating extensive recruitment efforts.
