The Director of Medical Education Innovation provides strategic leadership to prepare future physicians to excel in an AI-enabled healthcare environment through a spiritually grounded, scientifically rigorous educational program. Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean of Academics, the director advances an approach to innovation that uses technology to strengthen—not diminish—human intelligence, agency, judgment, and relationships, while supporting learning, independent clinical reasoning, and compassionate patient care. Working with school and university leaders, faculty, the Curriculum Committee, students, clinical partners, and academic and industry collaborators, the director informs the evaluation and integration of emerging technologies across the MD curriculum, supports faculty development, and advances educational scholarship and continuous improvement. This work supports the preparation of Christ-centered physicians who use technology skillfully and responsibly, preserve human dignity, alleviate suffering, and minister to God’s children throughout the world. The position requires a relevant terminal degree completed by the start date, at least five years of relevant professional experience, demonstrated expertise and experience with AI or emerging technologies, and a commitment to the mission of Brigham Young University and its School of Medicine. Appointment requires Ecclesiastical Endorsement, and the appointee is expected to abide by the Church Education System Code of Conduct. The successful candidate must relocate to and/or reside in Utah for the duration of employment.
