About The Position

The Director of Marketing will be responsible for the Marketing, Public Relations, and overall brand efforts for the Algonquin Resort. This onsite position will collaborate with the sales and marketing team, as well as the executive committee to build campaigns to drive revenue.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field required.
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive marketing experience.
  • Proven success in developing and executing integrated marketing, advertising, and public relations strategies that drive business growth.
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing, media relations, content development, social media management, and CRM platforms.
  • Experience managing brand reputation, media partnerships, press relations, and crisis communications.
  • Advanced analytical, budgeting, project management, and communication skills.
  • Experience within hospitality, tourism, resort, or destination marketing environments required.
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Must be located or willing to relocate to St Andrews New Brunswick

Responsibilities

  • Lead all marketing, public relations, and brand efforts for The Algonquin Resort
  • Build campaigns that drive revenue while reinforcing the resort as a leading destination in St. Andrews and Atlantic Canada
  • Support the Sales and Marketing team, along with external partners such as agencies, photographers, and media
  • Develop sales tools and promotional materials, including presentation decks, unique promotions, and supporting collateral
  • Ensure the resort’s look, voice, and messaging are consistent across all platforms including website, social media, advertising, and on-property materials
  • Stay connected to the local community through events, partnerships, and tourism initiatives
  • Contribute to the leadership team and support overall business planning and performance
  • Prepare monthly reports with clear insights on results, opportunities, and next steps
  • Build relationships with regional tourism partners, media, and industry contacts
  • Manage marketing budgets, forecasts, and expenses responsibly
  • Plan and deliver a yearly public relations strategy that supports both awareness and bookings
  • Act as the main contact for media, including travel writers, local press, and influencers
  • Write and manage press releases, story ideas, and media outreach
  • Host media stays and coordinate photography, video shoots, and interviews on property
  • Maintain strong working relationships with the local DMO, tourism boards and Marriott brand teams
  • Support local partnerships and community involvement in a way that feels authentic to the resort
  • Monitor online reviews and help protect the resort’s reputation
  • Keep photo libraries, media lists, and press materials up to date
  • Identify opportunities for awards, recognition, and industry exposure
  • Support communications across departments to enhance the guest experience
  • Step in to guide messaging if any issues or sensitive situations arise
  • Plan and execute marketing campaigns that drive bookings across rooms, events, activations and experiences
  • Work closely with sales & revenue teams to align marketing with demand and need periods
  • Support business across key segments such as leisure, incentive, association, weddings, corporate groups, and local events
  • Oversee the website and third-party listings to ensure all content is accurate and performing well
  • Lead marketing efforts for the full resort experience including accommodations, dining, golf, spa, and seasonal programming
  • Execute social media direction with a focus on strong visuals, storytelling, and steady growth
  • Oversee all creative assets including photography, video, print, and digital materials
  • Build and manage annual marketing plans and budgets
  • Find new ways to promote the resort through partnerships, campaigns, and local collaborations
  • Lead content optimization with a focus on SEO and AI-driven best practices
  • Drive incremental demand during need periods through targeted local and regional marketing initiatives across resort outlets
  • Support leadership with clear and consistent internal communication
  • Help keep teams informed and aligned across departments
  • Contribute to initiatives that strengthen team culture and engagement
  • Manage execution of initiatives and activations
  • Provide guidance for media interactions when needed
  • Support communication planning during operational challenges or emergencies
  • Promote a positive and professional team environment through strong communication
