Its success depends on combining strong manufacturer partnerships with disciplined Canadian commercialization, clinical market knowledge, and effective sales execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, Health Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of progressive marketing, sales, or commercial experience within a medical device distribution model or managing relationships with third-party manufacturers.
  • 5+ years of successful people leadership, with experience developing high-performing marketing or commercial professionals.
  • Strong medical device marketing and management experience with demonstrated success leading commercial teams.
  • Familiarity with acute care clinical environments.
  • Understanding of capital equipment sales cycles and the complex decision-making processes involved in hospital purchases.
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to connect marketing strategy directly to sales performance.
  • Strong people leadership, coaching, and performance management capabilities.
  • Excellent financial acumen with confidence managing P&L, pricing, margins, and product mix.
  • Ability to analyze complex sales data and convert findings into clear commercial actions.
  • Strong negotiation skills for manufacturer agreements, pricing discussions, and strategic business issues.
  • Executive-level presentation and communication capabilities.
  • Advanced technical proficiency for analyzing sales data.
  • Comfortable moving between strategic planning, detailed analysis, sales execution, and customer-facing activities.
  • Willingness to travel for hospital visits, field rides, conferences, and manufacturer meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Marketing Managers responsible for multiple acute care and surgical portfolios.
  • Establish portfolio strategies that drive revenue, market share, and profitable growth across Canada.
  • Translate global manufacturer priorities into focused Canadian commercialization plans.
  • Equip field sales teams with product positioning, competitive strategies, training, and sales tools that help them win.
  • Provide commercial leadership for new product introductions, ensuring market readiness and alignment with Canadian regulatory requirements.
  • Own overall portfolio financial performance, including revenue, product mix, gross margin, pricing, and profitability.
  • Direct pricing strategies and recommend corrective actions when commercial performance falls below expectations.
  • Partner with Sales, Supply Chain, and external manufacturers to improve forecasting, product availability, and inventory management.
  • Lead business reviews with manufacturing partners, establishing clear expectations around forecasts, commercial initiatives, and performance metrics.
  • Present portfolio strategies, business plans, and performance results to senior leadership and external executives.
