About The Position

The Director of Marketing provides strategic direction, leadership, and direct management to the Marketing Department. This role is responsible for the successful planning, development, administration, and execution of all marketing programs, as well as all branding and design elements. The Director will support producers in brokerage and directors in commercial and residential property management to develop marketing efforts focused on client retention and business development. Key management areas include marketing/design, research, communications, and client coordinators.

Requirements

  • Bachelors' Degree or advanced degree from accredited college or university, and/or relevant career experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years management and design/marketing experience
  • Strong graphics background.
  • Knowledge of traditional and digital/on-line marketing and social media.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates strong strategic capabilities with successful track record of marketing results.
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively.
  • Proven ability to coach, train, facilitate, supervise and lead teams effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to persuade, market and sell new ideas.

Responsibilities

  • Department oversight and direction
  • Responsible for the successful planning, development, administration and execution of specific marketing and design projects.
  • Responsible for the systematic and thorough documentation of all work performed.
  • Responsible for determining specific brokerage and business line needs, including how they relate to the corporate strategic plan and developing strategies to ensure projects contribute to increased revenue and growth in designated markets and business lines.
  • Utilize research databases for significant marketing and revenue generating opportunities.
  • Responsible for project management and administration including determining project direction and implementation, budgeting, cost-benefit analysis projections, scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Manages all consultant contracts including negotiations under manager's approval.
  • Performs all corporate branding / strategy development and implementation.
  • Works with corporate office and business leaders to develop appropriate marketing strategies.
  • Develops corporate branding guidelines and ensures compliance throughout all businesses.
  • Responsible for brand management and messaging via all printed materials, press releases, advertising, and social media.
  • Oversight of client coordinators across the platform to include training and sharing of best practices, coordination of broker feedback of their client coordinators and managing the team's interaction with the marketing department.
  • Performance Management: Responsible for setting objectives and directing all budgeting and financial planning activities relative to department.
  • Conduct annual reviews of subordinate associates.
  • Partner with Human Resources to develop appropriate tools and plans for consistent review of results and subsequent development plans, promotion or termination of employment.
  • Talent Acquisition and Development: Responsible for recruitment of qualified associates to support department objectives.
  • Responsible for training and educating team members to promote innovative thinking.
  • Business Development and Client Retention: Identify top clients in Brokerage for each office as well as property management and residential property management.
  • Work with lead brokers in each market to determine marketing strategy to consistently reach top clients with appropriate thought leadership and corporate messaging.
  • Identify target clients in Brokerage for each office as well as property management and residential property management.

  • Ensure corporate marketing database of clients and targets is kept up to date.
  • Manage Research Department: Oversee research manager role.
  • Ensure Apto training and functionality is appropriate for end users.
  • Ensure timely delivery of quarterly market reports.
  • Ensure interaction with brokerage offices is appropriate.
  • Manage a market leading research team.
  • Integrate research thought leadership pieces into appropriate marketing deliverables.
