About The Position

The Director of Marketing – Undergraduate Admissions is responsible for helping Seattle University to drive excellent undergraduate enrollment results through strategic planning, execution, and assessment of integrated marketing and communications efforts that drive undergraduate student recruitment, application growth, yield, and enrollment at Seattle University. Positioned at the intersection of Undergraduate Admissions and Marketing and Communications, this role ensures the cohesive development and delivery of messaging across all stages of the prospective student lifecycle from initial inquiry to matriculation. The Director manages communication and content strategies across multiple platforms, including print, web, email, text, and digital media.

Requirements

  • Experience working within CRM systems to execute communication plans.
  • Knowledge of automated marketing workflows, dynamic content, conditional logic and data segmentation
  • Experience building and editing student-facing portals within Slate.
  • Proficiency in web content management systems (Terminal4 experience preferred).
  • Demonstrated conversion success in managing multi-channel communication campaigns, including print, web, text, and email.
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to balance multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Strong writing, editing, and content strategy skills with a keen eye for detail and consistency.
  • Collaborative mindset with a demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced across departments and with external vendors in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, communications, or enrollment management, preferably in a higher education setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field.
  • Familiarity with higher education enrollment cycles, student decision-making behavior, and diversity and inclusion best practices in recruitment.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, HTML, and/or basic graphic design tools is a plus.
  • Understanding of data privacy regulations, accessibility standards, and inclusive design in digital communications.
  • Experience with Slate query and campaign building.

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with Marcom and Admissions, oversee planning, production, and distribution of all undergraduate admissions print materials, including viewbooks, postcards, brochures, and yield communications.
  • Lead and execute the full lifecycle of prospective student email and text campaigns through Slate Deliver, from inquiry to matriculation (including search, application, admission, and anti-melt campaigns), maintaining a consistent university voice and brand.
  • Maintain close communication with the undergraduate enrollment recruitment teams (first-year, transfer, international) to understand the unique needs of each population.
  • Serve as content manager for the undergraduate admissions website, facilitating updates, audits, and user experience improvements in collaboration with the university web team.
  • Collaborate with Marcom and external vendors to support digital advertising, paid search and social media campaigns, virtual tours, and video projects.
  • In coordination with the Undergraduate Admissions Slate Captain to build and manage student admissions Slate portals ensuring a personalized and consistent user experience.
  • Work in partnership with offices across campus (e.g., Student Financial Services, academic departments, International Student Center, Athletics) to plan and deliver integrated messaging to prospective students.
  • Coordinate internal messaging calendars and ensure consistent voice, tone, and branding across all platforms.
  • Ensure the recruitment team utilizes accurate brand guidelines.
  • Provide strategic insight and tactical support for signature recruitment events and invite campaigns.
  • Contribute to marketing budget planning conversations and provide guidance on strategic resource allocation for maximum impact. This includes oversight and management of budget allocations for projects and adjusting strategies to ensure projects remain within budget.
