About The Position

Pattern is seeking a Director of Marketing Technology and Development to manage the entire infrastructure behind their marketing efforts. This includes pattern.com, technical SEO, the MarTech stack, and attribution, as well as overseeing a growing development team. The role reports to the CMO and involves acting as the technical architect to translate strategic vision into scalable global infrastructure. Pattern is a fast-growing company that accelerates brands on global ecommerce marketplaces using proprietary technology and AI, optimizing advertising, content management, logistics, pricing, forecasting, and customer service. They leverage vast amounts of data and sophisticated AI models to drive profitable revenue growth for hundreds of global brands across numerous marketplaces.

Requirements

  • 14+ years in marketing technology, growth engineering, or digital marketing with a track record of building and scaling.
  • Proficiency in modern JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML/CSS, and at least one backend language or scripting environment.
  • Experience with AI-assisted dev tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor).
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise CRM and marketing automation platforms.
  • Proven ownership of a marketing website at scale, including CMS architectures and performance optimization.
  • Experience managing distributed technical teams across time zones, setting direction, running sprints, and holding quality standards while remaining a hands-on contributor.
  • Strong command of attribution modeling, server-side tracking, tag management, and data integrity practices.
  • Working knowledge of technical SEO and emerging GEO/AI search signals.
  • Experience managing global web infrastructure, multi-region delivery, geo-testing, hreflang, international compliance, and validating site performance from multiple geographic locations.
  • Experience with experimentation platforms and a rigorous, hypothesis-driven testing mindset.
  • Fluent in AI automation tools and custom API development.

Responsibilities

  • Own pattern.com and all marketing web properties globally, including architecture, performance, CMS, conversion optimization, and product roadmap aligned to pipeline goals.
  • Lead the MarTech strategy, integrating the marketing stack with Salesforce.
  • Evaluate, rationalize, and own all marketing tools, including make-vs-buy decisions and vendor negotiations.
  • Partner with Revenue Operations as the marketing technology lead, ensuring seamless data flow between marketing systems and Salesforce.
  • Own the technical SEO and GEO infrastructure for discoverability in traditional and AI-powered search engines.
  • Build and maintain the full measurement stack, including tag management, conversion APIs, server-side tracking, UTM governance, and attribution modeling.
  • Write code alongside the development team on frontend, backend, and integration challenges using modern tooling and AI-assisted development.
  • Manage and grow a distributed development team, setting engineering standards, sprint priorities, and code review culture.
  • Build and manage a systematic A/B testing and CRO program across website, landing pages, and email.
  • Partner with Content and Demand teams to scale AI-powered workflows, including automated content pipelines, LLM integrations, and n8n automations.
