Director of Marketing Communications

LANTRONIXPlymouth, MN
$175,000 - $200,000Hybrid

About The Position

The Director, Marketing Communications is a senior individual contributor and team leader responsible for driving Lantronix's global Marcom strategy across product marketing, content, PR, digital, and brand. Reporting directly to the Chief Revenue Officer, this role owns the full communications function — from product launch narratives to agency relationships to investor aligned messaging — and plays a central role in elevating Lantronix's market presence across enterprise, defense, and industrial IoT segments. This is a high-impact role for a Marcom leader who is equally comfortable crafting a press release for a product launch and briefing a PR agency on quarterly earned media strategy. Experience operating within a Nasdaq-listed company environment is essential.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive marketing communications experience, with at least 3 years in a Director or senior manager role
  • Demonstrated experience operating within a publicly traded company environment, including understanding of earnings communications, disclosure sensitivity, and IR alignment
  • Proven track record managing PR agencies and/or other creative/marketing agencies with direct budget ownership and SOW accountability
  • Experience marketing complex B2B technology products to enterprise, OEM, or industrial buyers
  • Ability to work in a lean, fast-paced environment where strategic thinking and hands-on execution are both required
  • Experience marketing into defense, aerospace, or critical infrastructure verticals
  • Prior experience supporting Nasdaq small-cap or mid-cap company communications, including proxy-awareness and forward-looking statement discipline
  • Background working with or alongside investor relations functions on earnings timing, press release coordination, or analyst outreach
  • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to produce executive-quality content independently — press releases, messaging frameworks, web copy, and customer-facing narrative

Nice To Haves

  • Domain knowledge in Edge AI, embedded compute, industrial IoT, network infrastructure management, or adjacent hardware/software categories
  • Familiarity with semiconductor or embedded systems marketing — including the ability to translate platform-level technical specs into buyer-relevant messaging

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an integrated Marcom strategy aligned to Lantronix revenue and brand objectives across product lines
  • Own the annual Marcom budget, including agency retainers, campaign spend, trade show, and content production
  • Partner with the CRO and Product Line Management to build launch plans, competitive messaging frameworks, and go to-market narratives
  • Align communications strategy with investor relations and executive messaging to ensure consistency across public facing channels
  • Drive the development of product-level content: press releases, solution briefs, white papers, case studies, web copy, and executive presentations
  • Maintain brand and message consistency across all external communications with rigor around forward-looking statements and public company disclosure standards
  • Translate complex technical capabilities — including Edge AI inference, embedded compute platforms, and network infrastructure management — into clear, outcome-driven narratives for diverse audiences
  • Own the editorial calendar and ensure content pipeline supports demand generation, channel, and field sales objectives
  • Lead day-to-day management of PR agency relationships including SOW execution, performance accountability, media strategy, and budget management
  • Drive proactive media outreach, analyst briefings, and thought leadership placement in key trade and business press
  • Serve as internal communications lead for product launches, trade show activations, and earnings-adjacent announcement timing
  • Evaluate and manage additional creative, digital, and content agency relationships as needed
  • Lead and develop the Marcom team, setting clear objectives, prioritizing workload, and building individual capability
  • Foster a culture of execution rigor, creative ambition, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Act as communications advisor to Product, Sales, and Engineering stakeholders on messaging, channel strategy, and launch readiness
  • Oversee web content strategy, SEO/GEO narratives, and digital asset management in coordination with demand generation
