About The Position

Aviata Health Group is seeking a qualified Director of Maintenance to join its resident- and family-focused community in Jacksonville, Florida. The role plans, organizes, develops, and directs the Maintenance Department in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations to help ensure the facility is safe and comfortable. The successful candidate will be team-oriented, able to build a team, and interested in contributing to facility culture and improving systems and processes.

The Director of Maintenance oversees preventive maintenance, equipment and utilities management, maintenance staffing and training, safety inspections and education, and routine building and grounds maintenance.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• At least three years of experience in a supervisory capacity in a maintenance- or plant-related position.
• Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
• Must be qualified, compassionate, and dedicated.

Nice To Haves

• A secondary degree from an accredited vocational or technical school.

Responsibilities

• Develop and ensure implementation of a preventive maintenance plan that specifies tasks and completion time frames.
• Establish an equipment and utilities management program.
• Hire, train, and supervise enough maintenance technicians to address assigned tasks effectively.
• Participate in regular facility safety inspection tours and ensure findings are documented.
• Provide facility-wide safety training and serve as Chairperson of the Safety Committee.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings and grounds.
• Ensure supplies and equipment are maintained to provide a safe and comfortable environment.
• Create and implement ideas that improve systems and processes and achieve superior results.
