About The Position

Beztak Senior Living is seeking to hire a Director of Maintenance to join their team. This position is responsible for supervising their maintenance and housekeeping teams to ensure the property, grounds, and equipment are safe, orderly, and visibly appealing. The role involves overseeing building space allocation, communication services, and facility expansion, as well as planning budgets and schedules for facility modifications. The Director of Maintenance will inspect construction progress, motivate their team to provide excellent customer service and high-quality repairs, and perform various duties such as building repairs, snow removal, housekeeping, and groundskeeping to ensure residents have a clean and well-maintained living environment. This role is also responsible for hiring team members and providing continuous learning and development. Key responsibilities include documenting replacements and repairs of various unit components, completing emergency repairs, and operating a company or personal vehicle for job duties. The position requires working in a high-pressure environment, interacting with difficult customers/vendors, handling urgent matters, resolving conflicts, and possessing effective interpersonal skills.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or related Vocational Training and/or equivalent work experience
  • 1-2 years supervisory experience

Nice To Haves

  • HVAC knowledge and EPA certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the coordination of building space allocation and layout, communication services, and facility expansion
  • Plans budgets and schedules facility modifications, including cost estimates
  • Inspects construction and installation progress.
  • Motivate and hold accountable a team to provide excellent customer service and high-quality repairs in a timely manner
  • Performs various duties such as building repairs, snow removal, housekeeping or groundskeeping to provide residents with a clean and well-maintained living environment
  • Responsible for the hiring of team members, and providing continuous learning and development of their team
  • Documents replacement of appliances, carpet, vinyl, water heaters, condensers, etc., in all units. Also tracks systems repairs, apartment painting (full paint or touch-up), refrigerator coil cleaning, and other major repairs
  • Completes emergency repairs as may be required to prevent damage or deterioration.
  • Operating a company vehicle or personal vehicle (as required) to perform job duties. Candidates must be willing and able to drive for work-related purposes as needed.
  • Working in a high-pressure environment, interacting with difficult customers/vendors, handling urgent matters, resolving conflicts, having effective interpersonal skills.
