About The Position

Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Winter Park, Florida, is seeking a full time Director of Liturgy. We are committed to excellent music and liturgy and present a great opportunity to work in a dynamic parish within the Diocese of Orlando. The successful candidate will work together with an established Liturgy Team to plan for the liturgical life and needs of the parish. They will work together with the leaders of nearly 20 Liturgical Ministries made up of approximately 600 volunteer ministers across six weekend liturgies in two languages. Requirements

  • Strong understanding of Catholic liturgical theology, praxis and norms.
  • Passion for fostering progressive solemnity across all parish liturgies.
  • Experience recruiting, forming, and empowering volunteers for ministry.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills that engage pastorally.
  • Strong organizational and technological skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications and parish management software.
  • Willingness to learn and adopt new technologies.
  • Practice of the Catholic faith.
  • Conduct oneself in a manner that is consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the Church.
  • Public behavior must not violate the faith, morals or laws of the Church or the policies of the diocese.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s (or Masters) Degree in Liturgical Studies, Pastoral Ministry or Theology; or equivalent education.
  • Experience with Audio/Visual technology, or desire to learn.
  • Prior experience in parish liturgical leadership (minimally 2-5 years).
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred but not required; candidates should have a familiarity with basic liturgical Spanish resources and texts.

Responsibilities

  • Plan for the liturgical life and needs of the parish.
  • Work with leaders of Liturgical Ministries.
  • Recruit, form, and empower volunteers for ministry.
  • Provide clear guidance and accountability in both verbal and written formats.
  • Manage parish liturgical needs across multiple weekend liturgies in two languages.
