About The Position

Frostburg State University (FSU) seeks applications for a full-time, exempt Director of Lane University and Event Services. The Director of Lane University Center and Event Services reports to the Assistant Vice President of Student Engagement and provides senior leadership for the planning, administration, and strategic direction of the Lane University Center and centralized Event Services. The Director is responsible for the overall oversight of operations, fiscal management, compliance, risk assessment and mitigation, and long-range strategic planning for the Lane University Center, Event Services, and the University Conferences operation. The position ensures the effective delivery of high-quality, customer-focused auxiliary and event services that support the University’s academic mission, co‑curricular programs, conferences, and external partnerships. The Director will also oversee the University’s Event Management System (EMS) and supervise the centralized scheduling operation and associated staffing, supporting more than 86,000 annual bookings serving registered student organizations, faculty, academic departments, staff, administrators, and external clients. The role is responsible for directing and planning the effective utilization of all centralized services under the Event Services umbrella, including space reservations, Centralized Technical Services, and the University Box Office, as well as supervising related full-time and student employees. The Director provides day-to-day administrative leadership for the Lane University Center, including facility operations, maintenance coordination, the Game Room, Information Desk, and associated building services. The position serves as the primary leader for a comprehensive, centralized “one-stop shop” model for campus events and facilities, coordinating reservation approvals, event planning, catering, security, parking, and other logistical and operational needs across the University. In addition, the Director is responsible for enhancing and promoting revenue generation by expanding and marketing the use of campus facilities to external users while ensuring appropriate contracts, fiscal controls, and risk management practices are followed. Director plays a key role in ensuring institutional policies, safety standards, and compliance requirements are met for all events and auxiliary operations.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Professional degree with 4-6 years of related experience.

  • Master’s degree in student personnel, higher education administration, counseling, etc.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years professional experience in college student union management and/or student activities/programming.
