About The Position

The Director of Information Technology leads enterprise IT operations and infrastructure across a multi-site healthcare environment, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable technology services. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for managing a team of seasoned IT professionals, overseeing daily operations, and driving strategic initiatives that align technology with organizational and clinical objectives. The role balances strategic leadership with hands-on technical execution, remaining actively involved in infrastructure architecture, security oversight, and complex technical decision-making.

Requirements

  • Eight (8) or more consecutive years managing teams and direct reports, including six (6) or more years managing technical teams.
  • Demonstrated experience managing enterprise Microsoft 365 environments, virtualized and hybrid infrastructure, and complex security ecosystems.
  • Proven ability to lead IT teams, manage budgets and vendors, and support secure operations in a regulated, multi-site healthcare environment with HIPAA and PII requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of IT professionals while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement through performance management, coaching, and professional development.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex technical and operational issues.
  • Oversee enterprise IT operations across a distributed healthcare environment consisting of a hybrid virtualized and physical infrastructure.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, resiliency, and lifecycle management of all IT assets.
  • Own the enterprise Microsoft 365 environment, ensuring security, optimization, enterprise-wide collaboration, and alignment with business needs.
  • Provide executive oversight of networking services, including an extensive network of HP Aruba wireless access points as well as a robust Fortinet infrastructure deployed throughout the organization.
  • Govern enterprise security architecture, Fortinet infrastructure, and third-party Security Operations Center (SOC) and Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services (eSentire).
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and protection of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Protected Health Information (PHI) in all applicable areas of technology throughout the enterprise.
  • Establish and enforce security policies, incident response procedures, and risk management practices.
  • Develop and maintain IT roadmaps, own IT budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization.
  • Assist in evaluating and implementing emerging technologies, automation, and modernization initiatives to improve efficiency and service quality.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and procurement of hardware, software, cloud services, and managed service providers.
  • Govern IT projects from planning through execution, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
  • Act as the primary liaison between IT, business leadership, and clinical stakeholders, communicating risks, progress, and outcomes effectively.
