About The Position

NNRMLS is seeking a confident, hands-on IT leader to lead technology operations and strategy for a small, highly collaborative organization serving real estate professionals across Northern Nevada. The Director of IT sits on the executive leadership team, reports directly to the CEO, and works as a peer alongside three other directors. This is an individual-contributor leadership role with no large team to manage; the director owns the work and its results. The role works directly with the CEO, participates in technology advisory and board meetings, represents NNRMLS to industry partners, and drives technology strategy from concept through execution. The director is expected to communicate recommendations clearly, hold vendors accountable, identify risks and barriers, and keep priorities moving. During the first 90 days, the director will learn the organization, industry, systems, vendors, and operations; attend board and technology advisory meetings alongside the CEO; and develop an informed perspective on areas needing attention. The position calls for someone curious, organized, and ready to demonstrate their approach to the work early.

Requirements

5 to 12 years of progressive IT experience.
A track record of leading complex initiatives end to end.
Strong communication and leadership presence, including the ability to bring ideas and lead with confidence.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365, cloud services, networks, identity and access management, and SaaS applications.
Comfort working hands-on in a lean environment rather than delegating the work.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical issues into clear business decisions.
Experience managing vendors, technology projects, and cross-functional initiatives.

Nice To Haves

Experience operating at or near the executive level; reporting to a CEO, president, or equivalent is a strong indicator.
MLS, real estate technology, or data industry experience.
Experience with Flexmls.
Familiarity with IDX/VOW or RESO standards.
Experience with Zoho One.
Relevant certifications such as Microsoft, CompTIA, or CMLX.

Responsibilities

Lead NNRMLS technology operations and serve as the primary technology advisor to the CEO.
Drive technology initiatives from planning through completion, including implementations, migrations, and integrations.
Manage vendors and hold them accountable to contracted commitments and timelines.
Oversee cybersecurity, disaster recovery, data licensing programs (IDX, VOW, and third-party feeds), APIs, and system integrations.
Identify risks, surface barriers early, and keep priorities moving.
Represent technology clearly to executive leadership, the board, and industry partners.
Use support and operational data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI, and make well-supported recommendations.
