About The Position

A privately owned agricultural grower and distributor in California's Central Valley is seeking a Director of International Finance. The company has a twenty-year history, evolving from a local farming venture into a global operation encompassing growing, packing, and worldwide sales, with significant revenue and farming holdings across the Americas and beyond. This leadership role is crucial for connecting corporate leadership with overseas farming and sales teams, providing financial discipline, strategic insight, and operational understanding to an ambitious organization. The Director will serve as the primary finance liaison between corporate leadership and international farming and sales activities. Key responsibilities include mitigating financial risks associated with currency fluctuations, cross-border investments, and multi-entity structures across various jurisdictions. The role involves shaping and executing company-wide financial strategies to support international operations, growth, and earnings objectives. Additionally, the Director will oversee international financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance evaluation, providing executive leadership with data-driven financial guidance for strategic decision-making. Support for mergers, acquisitions, and other cross-border ventures will also be required, along with coaching and developing regional finance teams to ensure consistency and efficiency. The position demands the production of accurate financial reports compliant with international accounting standards and local regulations.

Requirements

  • A track record of steering global financial operations, cross-border investments, and multi-entity structures.
  • Deep experience across international finance, accounting, and high-level financial leadership.
  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related subject at bachelor's level; a master's qualification is an advantage.
  • Sharp analytical, communication, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Sound understanding of ERP platforms, cross-border tax regulation, and foreign exchange management.
  • Earlier exposure to agriculture, food production, or integrated grower and packer environments.
  • Complete fluency, both written and verbal, in English and Spanish alike.
  • Clear ability to lead and persuade within a multicultural, multinational context.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the central finance contact uniting corporate leadership with overseas farming and sales activity throughout numerous global markets.
  • Reduce financial risk arising from currency movements, cross-border investment, multi-entity setups, and compliance duties spanning many jurisdictions.
  • Shape and implement company-wide financial strategies that further its overseas operations, growth ambitions, and earnings goals.
  • Take charge of international financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance evaluation across various regions and corporate entities.
  • Furnish executive leadership with financial perspective and fact-based guidance that drives strategic choices.
  • Lend support to mergers, acquisitions, and other cross-border ventures as circumstances demand.
  • Coach, develop, and partner with regional finance teams so that consistency, efficiency, and proven methods take hold company-wide.
  • Produce precise and prompt financial reports that align with international accounting standards and the applicable local rules.
