The Director of Intensive Services ensures program adherence to agency policy, CARF and DMHSAS standards, federal and state confidentiality rules, and special funding source requirements. This role supports a recovery-focused, welcoming, and trauma-informed service environment for individuals needing behavioral health and/or co-occurring services. The Director attends annual core competencies training related to co-occurring disorders and trauma. They establish and maintain professional working relationships, develop integrated service provisions, and work cohesively in team settings. This position directs and supervises the clinical aspects of Intensive Services at both the URC and outpatient levels of care, collaborating with other directors to ensure continuity and collaboration in Case Management/Care Coordination and group services. The Director assists the Clinical Director in developing and implementing program goals and outcome criteria, oversees grant management and new grant proposals, and demonstrates the ability to oversee multiple programs. They are responsible for the program budget, working closely with the Finance Office, and directing program development and grant coordination in adherence with CCBHC regulations, aiming to expand and enhance all programs. The Director provides input to supervisors on the professional performance of clinical staff, determines staff training and consultation needs, and approves training/orientation for new staff. They may also provide direct services and training in crisis diversion and intervention, including debriefing related to incidents. The role involves establishing rapport with clients, assessing needs, organizing and delivering face-to-face services, and conducting follow-up. The Director oversees and assists clients in transitioning between service intensity levels and in developing individualized recovery plans. They are responsible for maintaining strict confidentiality guidelines and for scheduling and supervising assigned staff, ensuring proper clinical record keeping, reporting procedures, and best practice trainings. The Director directs 24-hour staffing patterns and coverage for the URC to ensure continuous staffing. They utilize Collaborative/Therapeutic Documentation to meet documentation standards, ensuring documentation is completed with the consumer to the extent possible and on the same day of service. The role directs outreach and engagement efforts for clients and professionals at inpatient levels of care to facilitate referrals and participation, and builds community relationships with Crisis Centers and Inpatient Hospitals. They establish and maintain professional working relationships with other agencies and community partners, and monitor/approve staff timesheets, leave requests, schedules, travel, and performance. The Director assists in new staff orientation and training, and provides core training for current staff. They ensure staff monitor client eligibility and assist with applications for benefits like Social Security, Medicaid, and others. The role requires ongoing knowledge of client treatment, needs, and co-occurring services, and monitors outcome data to inform best practices. The position may require on-call, evening, and/or weekend hours, providing services in community and hybrid inpatient settings (URC), and may involve client transportation. The Director directly supervises daily operations within Therapeutic Services for Case Management and Therapy Programs, carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and laws, including interviewing, orientation, training, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, addressing complaints, and resolving problems, and participating in the management team.
